On this three day retreat you will;
- Learn and practice Yuan Gong Qigong, beautiful moving and still meditations using the body, mind, breath and Qi (energy).
Yuan gong practice effectively helps to relax the body and mind, improve sleep, relieve anxiety and improve overall health and wellbeing
 - Experience Qi healing, a completely safe and gentle way to improve the body’s Qi condition
 - Learn from experienced Yuan gong qigong teachers from around New Zealand who collectively offer a vast amount of knowledge and experience of Qigong and self-healing
 - Stay onsite at the beautiful Bella Rakha retreat centre in Oratia, and be provided with healthy vegetarian meals

The venue
Bella Rakha is located half an hour out of central Auckland, but it feels like another world. With beautiful gardens and natural bush at the back door; it is an idyllic location to retreat from your everyday life and enjoy the peaceful harmony of this natural setting. Originally a catholic retreat centre, the buildings have been recently refurbished and are modern and comfortable.

Meals
Kate Stone provided us with abundant, fresh, seasonal meals last year and will be part of the team again this year.  She began her fascination with food fifty-six years ago when she was born. Kate learned from watching and helping her restaurateur grandmother and nutritionist mother, who were also inspired cooks. She has cooked on fishing boats in Alaska, had her own restaurant, fed film crews and peace marchers and lots of hungry people in between.
Meals provided include breakfast, lunch (the main meal), a small afternoon tea and simple dinner (all vegetarian) as well as tea and fruit. BYO coffee and snacks if you need.

Costs
The cost to attend for the three days is $650 full price, or $550 unwaged - including accomodation (twin rooms with shared bathrooms) and meals (vegetarian).
Note; there is $50 discount if registered by Feb 25th.
Staying off site is also an option, although we recommend staying at the retreat centre to stay connected and immersed in the qi-field.
All Qualified Yuan gong teachers (any level) are eligible for the reduced price of $500, and invited to attend from 5pm Thursday the 22nd of March for a shared dinner and group practice.
Day visitors are also welcome although places are limited. Prices for day visitors are Friday or Saturday - $160, Sunday $120 (includes lunch).
Note; If you are keen to attend but finance is an issue, please contact Verena and we may be able to offer a solution.

Jay Glubb
Teaching regularly through his online project Chi-TV, Jay is passionate about finding creative ways to share valuable knowledge to help people improve and develop their lives.

Jay’s background in working with children (Jay is also an entertainer and magician) has led him to run yearly kids Qigong camps and workshops as well as teaching at adult focused events and offering one-on-one sessions via skype. Jay has also done presentations to a range of groups and organisations across New Zealand and been a guest speaker at events along the West Coast of the USA.

Raised in West Auckland, Jay now lives with his wife, son and cat on a small lifestyle block, in the hills just outside of Dunedin. He is looking forward to re-connecting with the area where he grew up, not far from the Bella Rakha retreat centre.

Johnny Harris
Johnny runs a successful healing practice in Whangarei, and has been studying Ren Xue and Qigong (initially Zhineng Qigong) with Yuan Tze since 2005. When Yuan Tze developed Yuan Gong qigong Johnny embraced the new methods and they quickly became his primary practice.
Johnny says that “Practicing the teachings of Ren Xue and the methods of Yuan Gong allows me to be more of the person I would like to be.” Johnny has been involved as a teacher and organiser on many retreats both in New Zealand and in the USA, as well as running his own regular classes. Recently he has decided to withdraw from regular teaching to work deeper on his own practice and life, so we are very fortunate to have him as a teacher at our Auckland retreat for the second year in a row!

Verena Jonker
Verena discovered Qigong in 2012 when, desperate for answers to help with her chronic fatigue, she booked in to the week-long national retreat in the South Island. At the time she knew very little about Qigong, apart from it being a form of meditation, and understanding that ‘meditation is good for you’.
“The realisations I made in that week were profound. I could finally fill in the gaps in my understanding of what was going on with my body and now had some practical ways to address my health issues and move forward.”

She no longer suffers from CFS and has now been a qualified Yuan gong teacher for four years. She has decided to use her event organisation skills to reach out to others who are looking for help with their health issues, and with life in general. From personal experience; she knows how much change can happen in a retreat situation, where people can focus on their well-being in a nurturing and supportive environment.
